One in three people requesting euthanasia on the grounds that their suffering is psychologically unbearable eventually die as a result of euthanasia. It's above all people suffering from depression or with a personality disorder that apply for euthanasia on these grounds.

Inspectors of the federal Economy Department seized 86 bracelets and 8,000 euros at Tomorrowland, the renowned dance festival in Boom that took place last weekend. An investigation was started into the activities of an English gang specialised in ticket fraud. This was announced by the federal minister for Consumers' Affairs, Kris Peeters.

The annual Ghent Festival (Gentse Feesten) came to a close early on Monday after 10 days. The 172 edition of the open-air festival welcomed a total of 1.4 million visitors. "But we didn't see any incidents. People get drunk in a pleasant way here", said Ghent Festival Burgomaster Christophe Peeters (Flemish liberal).

Faulty GPS directions are being blamed for a nasty smash involving a train and a car on the rail tracks in Mol (Antwerp Province) last night. The driver followed GPS directions that took him over the rails instead of turning right and avoiding them.
