The number of arrests has gone up by 50% due to an increased number of police in and around metro stations. Cases of aggression directed at transport staff have also gone down by 20%.

MIVB security personnel have also now been given the right to request to see identity cards from any person found in breach of the regulations and to detain anyone for up to 30 minutes while an identity check is carried out.
