Beer is important to Nero: In the first-ever strip, a detective is investigating a sinister criminal who is bending Belgians to his will using a special beer, and later Nero travels to Rwanda, discovers a beer tree and becomes fabulously rich.

The Nero beer is described as silky and subtle with a flavour of grapefruit and a strong aroma of hops. It’s available at the Marc Sleen Museum in Brussels.
