Play & Run: Colour Edition
Inspired by the traditional Indian festival of Holi, this colourful fun run through the woods has a special twist: participants are showered with coloured powder throughout the 4K run. Brussels Food Truck Festival
The best international food trucks from all over Europe will be in one place for the weekend, along with DJs and entertainment. Iris Festival
The city of Brussels throws this annual party for residents and visitors alike. Get to know the communes with guided walking and cycling tours, visit the European institutions during Saturday’s EU open house day, take in a free concert on the Paleizenplein, try out activities and watch street performers during Sunday’s Party in the Park, plus much more. 6-7 May, across Brussels; free 

Koinobori Children’s Weekend
The Japanese Garden in Hasselt celebrates this traditional Japanese festival dedicated to children, named after the koi-shaped windsocks that are flown for the occasion. Rock Around the Atomium
