Bruges one of world’s most romantic destinations
The Business Insider website has put the “fairytale” city Bruges in its top 7 most romantic travel destinations in the world
City’s hotels also score well
“Fairytale Bruges will enchant visitors,” the site says. “The city’s open squares, quaint houses and cobblestone streets create a romantic atmosphere, and couples can take boat rides through picturesque canals.” As an insider tip, the site recommends pushing the boat out with a meal at three-star restaurant De Karmeliet.
Bruges was also ranked 11th on the list of the world’s best hotel cities by the search engine Trivago. That list is headed by the Italian resort Sorrento, followed by Dresden in Germany and Gdansk in Poland. Brussels was 89th, six places higher than last year. Trivago’s rankings are based on the quality of a city’s hotels as reported by visitors to the site.
