Bart De Wever is the best political communicator in the country, according to a poll of 16 French- speaking journalists carried out for the Belgian magazine Lobby. De Wever came ahead of Elio Di Rupo and Paul Magnette, both French-speaking socialists who have played a major role in the negotiations to form a new government. The period under consideration was the year to June 2010 so De Wever made his impact before his election success and arrival on the national stage. The worst communicators were reckoned to be acting prime minister Yves Leterme, followed by French-speaking socialist Michel Daerden.
