Photo of the week: Like father, like son

Fatherly coach
Son Philip Milanov is the five-time Belgian champion in the discus and won the silver medal at the world championships in 2015, breaking the Belgian record. The following year, he came in ninth in the Summer Olympic Games in Rio. Philip also competes in the shot put event.
The pair are well-known in Belgian sports: Emil, a former discus thrower in his native Bulgaria, coaches Philip (“I can sometimes be a dictator,” he once told De Morgen). Philip was born in Bruges following his parents’ flight from Bulgaria.
While hesitant to give details of the family’s reasons for leaving the Balkan state, Emil told De Standaard in 2015 that “it had nothing to do with sport but with politics”.
